Call for dance groups to perform - 5th July at The Spirit of The Dance Festival 2009
Do you dance or are you in a Dance Group?  If you do, why not showcase your talent at the Spirit Of The Dance Festival on the 5th July Ridgeway Park, The Ridgeway, Old Church Road, Chingford E4. The Spirit Of The Dance Festival is searching for new talent to perform on stage in front of a live audience. We are looking for any kind of Dance Group - hip hop, ballet, flamenco, tap, contemporary, Capoeira, street dance, tango, Lyrical, Belly Dance, Salsa, Indian Dance, Samba, Polish Folk Dance or anything else that you can think of - we will present it all at The Spirit Of The Dance Festival. You can dance on your own or in a group, it's up to you. The Big Dance Festival 2008 line-ups included Contemporary Dance by the Ervin Lewis Dance Company, Parkour from Ryan Doyle the national extreme tricks champion, Irish Dance from Raven Dance Company, Hip Hop by the Manic Boyz, Estate Of The Arts and Unity as well as African Dance from Ernest Obeng to name a few. The festival kicks off at 2pm and will continue across two stages until 7pm. The festival offers a great opportunity to spend quality time with family, friends and your loved ones while relaxing to the music of Discovery Talents or just watching the dance theatre performance.Kids are well catered for we have the usual array of bouncy castles, roundabouts, not to mention the Climbing Wall, the Bungee Jump, the miniature train ride and children's entertainers. There is a full bar service with beer & wine, you can sample food from Indian, the Caribbean and the usual English dishes. There will be stalls offering everything from herbal remedies, craft and clothing as well as local arts. The Dance Stage will take you on a whirlwind adventure into different cultures. You will find yourself experiencing a taste of North America, immersing yourself in a little Eastern inspiration from Asia, and learning the exotic tales of Africa. You can also soak up the sexy Latin vibes from South America and take part in finale dance with our resident Ceilidh Band and caller. The Discovery Stage will showcase the best in new and unsigned music talent. There will be performance from home grown talent from Waltham Forest who will get the chance to play to industry professionals, friends & family and professionals. Artist such as Scouting for Girls, Sandi Thom and The Guillemot were spotted by A&R at the Discovery events... So expect nothing but the best talent!
