About Us
Dee Curtis founded Red Onion Dance & Yoga Studios in 2003, which is now the leading Arts Company in Waltham Forest. Our intention is to continue to widen the experience of our audiences whilst bringing a new and invigorated audience to music, performing arts, dance, and wellbeing.
The philosophy behind the creation of Red Onion was to offer the community of Leyton, Leytonstone, Walthamstow Chingford and Essex the opportunity to dance, rehearse and learn. We are here to promote dance and performing arts as a pastime for fun and fitness for the absolute beginner to the advanced & professional performers.
When asked why she set up a studio in the middle of Walthamstow, Dee said “I have lived in Walthamstow for 19 years and was never able to find a professional class that inspired me to attend regularly, so I decide to create a suitable environment myself”.
Everyone at Red Onion is really passionate and strive to present an eclectic mix of activities to celebrate the cultural diversity within Waltham Forest, as well as encourage new talent and emerging artists by providing a framework of training, support and performance opportunities. Learn more...
